Welcome to Nourish

Below is the overview and links of your training. You will follow this, day by day, whether you are beginning full time or part time. We ask that you please do not skip ahead—slowly digest and put into practice what you learn. Weeks 9 focus on the foundations of working with children and responsive teaching, with is a priority at Nourish.

Day 41: Repairing After Rupture

This session reframes conflict as a natural part of working closely with others and an opportunity to strengthen trust rather than a sign that a team is failing. Educators will explore what to do when they feel frustrated, unheard, or hurt, while learning how to approach repair with honesty and care. The session introduces simple tools such as “I feel, I need, I appreciate” to support respectful conversations. By practicing repair instead of avoidance, teams can move through tension with greater understanding, accountability, and connection.

Day 42: The Emotional Load of Teaching

This session brings attention to the often unseen emotional demands of teaching, including decision fatigue, overstimulation, and caregiver burnout. Educators will reflect on the invisible load they carry throughout the day and how that load can affect communication, patience, and teamwork. The session emphasizes the importance of supporting one another during the “messy middle,” when energy is low and demands are high. By extending the same care and compassion to teammates that they offer children, educators can help create a healthier and more sustainable classroom culture.

Day 43: Consistency with Children

This session explores how consistency among teaching partners helps children feel secure, understand expectations, and respond more successfully to boundaries and routines. Educators will examine how mixed messages, such as one teacher being more lenient while another is more firm, can create confusion and increase challenging behavior. The session emphasizes collaborative decision-making around routines, expectations, and behavior guidance so that children experience a clear and supportive approach. By presenting a unified front, teams can reduce unnecessary escalations and build greater trust with children.

Day 44: Celebrating Each Other's Strengths

This session encourages educators to recognize and appreciate the unique strengths each teammate brings to the classroom. Participants will explore differences in work styles, such as being highly structured versus more flexible, and consider how those differences can complement rather than compete with one another. The session provides opportunities to practice meaningful appreciation and constructive feedback that strengthens trust. By intentionally noticing what others do well, teams can build a culture where people feel valued, supported, and confident in their contributions.

Day 45: Teaching as a Relational Practice

This session brings the week’s learning together by emphasizing that the relationship between co-teachers is itself part of the classroom experience children observe every day. Educators will explore simple daily rituals that strengthen partnership, communication, and mutual support. The session invites participants to reflect on how their own behaviors contribute to the culture of the team and the emotional environment of the classroom. Through the closing question, “What kind of teammate do I want to be and become?”, educators are encouraged to approach teamwork as an ongoing practice of growth, connection, and shared responsibility.
